Coverage Scope

Event Cancellation

If the Insured, due to force majeure, is impeded from attending the event for which he has a “Bilhete Seguro”, the Insurer will ensure the reimbursement of the amount, within the maximum indemnifiable limit. For this purpose, the following shall be considered as force majeure:

a) Unforeseen professional impediments (scheduling meetings, training or others), duly documented, implying that the Insured is displaced from the place where the event takes place. For the purposes of this policy, it is understood that the insured who has a professional impediment within a radius of more than 150 km from the venue of the event is displaced.

b) Accident occurred with the means of transport in which the Insured traveled on the way to the venue of the event or show;

c) Accident occurred, diagnosed illness or hospitalization within fifteen days prior to the day of the event or performance, affecting the Insured, his / her spouse, ascendants or descendants of the first degree, provided that the latter are minors;

d) Impossibility of participation due to a duly proven fracture or injury, which makes it impossible to participate in the event if it occurs up to 45 days before the event

e) Theft, attempt or any violent act committed on the Insured or his / her companions while travelling to the venue of the event or performance that prevents the Insured from attending the event or performance;

f) Theft to the Insured of the ticket for the event or show;

g) Death of the Insured, spouse, or their descendants or ascendants, provided that it occurs within the fifteen days preceding the day of the event or performance;

h) Disturbance of public order, strikes and enforcement of martial law that prevents the Insured from attending the event or performance;

i) Inability for the Insured to access the venue of the event or show, caused by flooding, fire, explosion or by order of lawfully constituted authority;

j) Flight cancellation or airplane delay that prevents the Insured from attending the event or show.

k) Impairment due to pregnancy (valid from the 3rd month forward, on the date of the event).

Exclusions:

The following claims are always excluded from coverage:

a) Cancellation, anticipation or postponement of the show or public entertainment, as well as change of venue;

b) Delay in entering the venue or venue of the performance or public entertainment;

c) Work that makes the place where the performance or public entertainment or its access takes place, inaccessible or impracticable in whole or in part, except when such work is not known to the Policyholder at the time the tickets are marketed;

d) Failure by the Policyholder or Insured to comply with legal or regulatory rules or judicial or administrative decisions;

e) War, whether declared or not, invasion, acts of foreign enemies, hostilities or operations of war, civil war, insurrection, rebellion or revolution, as well as those accidentally caused by explosive or incendiary devices;

f) Acts of terrorism, as such considered by current Portuguese criminal law;

g) Military uprising or act of legitimate or usurped military power;

h) Explosion, release of heat and radiation from atom fission or radioactivity and radiation from artificial particle acceleration as well as from exposure to magnetic fields;

i) Acts or willful omissions of the Policyholder, the Insured or persons for whom they are civilly liable;

j) Non-compliance with medical prescription;

k) Suicide or its attempt and self-inflicted bodily injury;

l) Waterspout, tornado, typhoon or cyclone, snowfall, fog, frost or thunderstorm;

m) The simple disappearance of the insured ticket, without demonstrating that force or violence or threat has been employed for its removal, in which case that simple disappearance will be considered as theft, and not covered under this policy;

n) Any willful omission or negligence including simple loss by the Insured. For the purpose of such exclusion, the fact that you leave the Secure Ticket in a place that is visible from the outside, in a building or in a public place shall be considered negligent;

o) Any theft whose practice is facilitated or due to the Insured's negligence.

Claim Procedures

The procedures to be followed in the event of a claim are as follows:
The Insured shall report the occurrence of the Claim to the Insurer within the following deadlines, providing all relevant information requested to them for this purpose:

1. For the theft coverage of the Secure Ticket, the Insured must report its occurrence within 5 working days of its occurrence;
2. For all other warranties, the Insured must report the Claim within 10 days of the date of the event or performance. Participation may be made through the specially designed claims portal. In the event of theft of the Secure Ticket, the Insured shall, immediately upon the occurrence or knowledge of the claim for theft, make a Complaint to the Competent Authority, which shall include a detailed breakdown of the claim, namely:

a) Circumstances in which the theft occurred;
b) Express statement that the Secure Ticket has been stolen;

To instruct the claim process, the Insured shall send to the Insurer, by any of the foreseen means, the following documents or information:

  • Claim participation duly completed and signed;
  • Insured Ticket (except in case of Theft);
  • Proof of purchase of the Insured Ticket;
  • Evidence of the occurrence that led to the Insured's non-attendance at the event or performance;
  • In the event of theft of the Insured Ticket, the complaint shall be referred to the competent Authority.
